Recology, a revolutionary waste management company based in the Bay Area since 1921 (www.recology.com), currently recycles about 90% of San Francisco’s garbage. With their vision to “Waste Zero,” the employee owned Recology has developed dozens of programs to reduce landfill impact with astonishing success.
A 1-hour panel discussion and Q&A about China’s recently announced new standards for imported recovered material, including paper. Our panelists will discuss the announced standards and possible/expected revisions to them, as well as the program’s possible impacts on book paper availability and pricing in Asia; the market for recovered materials, including printed books; and availability/pricing of recycled and virgin fiber globally.
